My Review on Khoobsurat's Official Trailer

Most people would have known how crazy I am about this Pakistan singer turned actor, Fawad Khan. I could not stay behind without writing a review on his first Bollywood flick, named Khoobsurat which stars Sonam Kapoor, Rathna Pathak Shah, Kirron Kher and Fawad Khan himself. This film is co-produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Siddharth Roy Kapoor coupled with Disney and is directed by Shashanka Ghosh.
Khoobsurat is a remake of the vintage film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee which starred the glamorous and beautiful, Rekha. She played the role of Manju in the earlier version and now Sonam is ready to take her place in the remake.

As far as the trailer is concerned, the film looks GOOD overall. It looks like a family entertainer coupled with a tinge of royal romance between the two lead characters. It looks like a colourful, fun-filled film that can be enjoyed by a person of any age ranging from 6-60 years.

Fawad Khan aka Vikram Singh Rathore belongs to a royal family based in Rajashtan. Enters Sonam Kapoor aka Milli Chakraborty; a crazy physiotherapist who comes to treat Vikram's fathers' ailment and lives in their house with the rest of the family members.
The story basically revolves around the two characters, Vikram and Milli. It shows how their relationships develops from meeting for the first time till falling in love with each other.

Everything in the movie seems like a Disney fairy tale considering the locales, scenes, costumes and the dialogues. Each and every character in this movie looks royal because that's how the Director wanted it to be. Most of the songs of the movie are sung by Sunidhi Chauhan so I'm definitely looking forward to hear some peppy numbers from the movie. They've tried to make it look like a real Disney motion product.

Sonam flaunts herself as a true Bollywood fashionista and that's what is shown in the movie. She's dressed up in cute Disney costumes that make her look fascinating. Watch out the way she's dancing on 'Enjun Ki Seeti'. Fun crazy! Interestingly, the character of Milli is quite close to her own personality as per Sonam's own statement. It wouldn't have been much difficult for Fawad Khan to play the role of Vikram as he's already shown his brilliant acting in Pakistani projects previously. He looks more confident, suave and royal than ever before as his body language and perfect looks make him look like no less than an actual Disney Prince. He's more or less the Darcy from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

The addition of Kirron Kher is also a fun element for this movie. Though we've seen her portraying the role of a Punjabi mother in many films, still it's worth to watch her comic timing. It is quite evident that Kirron Kher plays the role of Manju which was earlier played by Rekha in the original and Milli (Sonam) is her daughter. This is how the story continues.
Allegedly, the role of Manju was first offered to Rekha but she turned it down for unknown reasons and then Kirron Kher stepped into her shoes. We also see Reena Pathak representing the similar role which was played by her mother Deena Pathak in the original version of Khoobsurat.

It seems that Fawad Khan has taken an intelligent decision while picking this movie as his first project in Bollywood considering his own talent, versatility and the stardom that has already been generated among the Pakistani audience.
The role that he's chosen for himself will definitely not let down his Pakistani fans and I'm sure he will keep on entertaining and making us proud not only just day by day but every moment by moment.

Khoobsurat looks like a good, clean family entertainment and I predict it is going to sweep away the title of 'hit' quite easily. I'm eager to watch the romantic chemistry between Sonam and Fawad but I'm going to watch the movie only for Fawad Khan.

Love and Regards,
Sara Naveed
